Two Blokes, One Ride: UK Duo to Cycle 5,000km from Istanbul to London to Fund Bicycles for Students in Need – Now with Match Funding
This July, friends and former schoolmates Tommy Davies and Jude Organ will set off on an incredible 5,000km cycling journey from Istanbul to London, raising vital funds for World Bicycle Relief UK – and thanks to newly secured match funding, every donation will now be doubled up to their £10,000 target.
The pair, riding under the name “Two Blokes One Ride,” are taking on the adventure not just as an endurance feat, but to highlight the transformational impact of bicycles for students in rural and underserved communities around the world.
“For many students, especially girls, a bicycle isn’t just a way to get to school – it’s a lifeline,” said Tommy Davies. “It can be the difference between dropping out and staying in education. Through this journey, we want to show how bicycles can break down barriers and create lasting change in communities.”
Their goal is to raise £10,000 – which, thanks to match funding, could become £20,000 – “enough to provide over 166 specially designed Buffalo Bicycles and empower more than 830 people, radically improving access to education, healthcare, and opportunity for hundreds of individuals. Each robust, locally assembled bicycle costs £120 and is built to tackle tough terrain in remote areas.”
“Tommy and Jude are taking on an extraordinary challenge in support of a truly transformative cause,” said Ben Sadler, Managing Director of World Bicycle Relief UK. “With their passion, commitment, and now this incredible match funding opportunity, they’re not just riding for adventure – they’re riding to change lives. We’re proud to support them every step, and pedal stroke, of the way.”
